Morocco's Civil Society Support Program, with a 36-month implementation period, is funded by the European Union.
The project seeks to both activate and develop the role of civil society in the development and monitoring of public policies in Morocco.
The project will test the new tools of participatory democracy and to anchor their participation in the process of advanced regionalization initiated in Morocco, in three priority themes: youth, the environment and gender equality; and at the same time, to decentralize EU support by making it more accessible, more visible and more connected to the realities of the region.
Activities at the national level include supporting and building on the implementation of the strategy of the Deputy Minister for Relations with Civil Society and Parliament (MCRSCP) and creating complementary synergies with the National Council of Human Rights (CNDH) and the National Institute for Human Rights Training (INFDH).
At the local level, four regions are targeted by the program in which four technical units will be responsible for deploying program activities.
In total, the program targets the staff of at least 300 CSOs to benefit from the financial and technical support envisaged.
The United Nations Office for Project Services, UNOPS is responsible for the implementation of the components of the Program.
