The general objective of this project is to support the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism in the implementation of a new classification system for tourist accommodation establishments (EHT), a restructuring project initiated by the Vision 2020 tourism strategy.

The specific goal of this project is to consolidate a competitive level of standing in the Moroccan hotel industry, to be up to standard in terms of international standards and to develop a real culture of quality within EHT. Indeed, capacity building and upgrading to international standards in terms of monitoring and classification of the hotel sector in Morocco will promote economic growth and have a positive impact on the job market.

The Project will be carried out according to the “National Implementation by the Government of UNDP - MM” procedure. The Ministry of Tourism and the UNDP have agreed to appeal to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), as a United Nations agency specializing in the field of tourism and partner for the realization of related technical activities. to this project, for a period of 72 months from the start of the Project.
