In 2018, gender inequalities persist in Morocco as shown in the
Global Gender Gap Report which ranks 137th out of 149 countries.

Faced with these challenges, CARE will combine its expertise on gender and female entrepreneurship by
partnership with Terre et Humanisme Maroc for agriculture and the environment and Mushmina,
(private sector), with regard to marketing but also to textiles.
History and genesis of the project:
With the support of CARE France, CARE Maroc tested the model
of Village Savings and Credit Associations, in the Oriental region since 2014. With
this experience and requests from the communities, CARE Maroc decided to replicate the experience,
by expanding support for the existing ecosystem in the rural region of Marrakech.
Main impacts targeted at the end of this phase (quantitative and qualitative): This project will target
7,553 people including 2,896 women.
