The purpose of the project is to help improve access to financing for Moroccan micro-enterprises,
and thus promote the development and stability of this business fabric, generating
income and jobs for Morocco.
To do this, it is proposed to support Finéa in its growth, the diversification of its
financial and non-financial intervention methods and the strengthening of its mandate to serve
Moroccan SMEs.
Finéa is a public financial institution subsidiary of the Caisse de
Deposits and Management (CDG) and whose core activity since its creation in 1950 has been the
financing of the operating cycle of SME's awarded public contracts
(mainly in the construction sector) notably through the provision of guarantees to the banking sector.
Established on a human scale and present in 6 cities, Finéa has been committed since 2014 in a
strategy for broadening its interventions as part of the implementation of a mandate
of public interest strengthened in the service of access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Finéa has thus launched
a market refinancing activity of the large commercial banks in their segment
Small business and intends to develop by 2022 a full range of financing products in
direct to micro-enterprises meeting various needs of this target (such as investment credit,
VAT financing, export support, etc.), in close partnership and in
complementarity with the local banking sector.
Finéa, is also developing, within the group
CDG, expertise in climate finance in order to support pilot actions in particular
in terms of energy efficiency and renovation, both intra-group and driven by the
partner banking sector.
Finéa presents a solid and profitable profile, reinforced by the guarantee
of its parent company, based on its very good control of the risks of its historical activity, but
its new ambitions will require a strengthening of its management and organization in particular.
