AFD's financing, for a total of 150 million euros, aims to promote equality between women and men, through the institutionalization and operationalization of Gender Responsive Budgeting in the framework of the elaboration and implementation of the Moroccan state budget.

Initiated in 2018 (financing of 100 million euros in the form of a public policy loan)

This support was increased at the end of 2021 by an additional 50 million euros. It demonstrates the willingness of both parties to strengthen their partnership around an ambitious and impactful reform, at a time when the deployment of the GRB approach has reached a milestone within Moroccan institutions.

At the same time, AFD is financing a 1.6 million euro expertise and capacity building program implemented by the Moroccan Ministry of Finance. 1.6 million expertise and capacity building program, implemented by UN-Women in partnership with the MEF's Center of Excellence for GRB, to support the expansion of the GRB approach in Morocco.
